LAAMU’S

SPINNERS

Each evening, around sunset, large pods of spinner dolphins migrate from their daytime resting grounds to the deeper water outside Laamu Atoll to feed. Our sunset dolphin cruises follow their migration routes, hoping to spot the aerial displays these dolphins are named for. On the cruise you can help the MUI team with their research by answering questions like: How many dolphins can you see? Are there any calves (babies) in the group? Which direction are they travelling in?

During the cruise, our captains follow a Dolphin Watching Code of Conduct to minimize stress to the dolphins. This Code of Conduct was developed by Six Senses Laamu in collaboration with the IUCN and was the first to be developed for the Maldives tourism industry.
